FOCUS TO CHANGE HOW YOU FEEL
Everything you want in life comes down to one thing and one thing only: you want a feeling. Maybe it’s a feeling of love, contribution, growth, significance, variety, revenge or pride.
What if you knew a way to get these feelings without having to really achieve anything?
I know what you may be thinking, “If I don’t have to achieve anything to feel happy, wouldn’t that completely kill my drive and motivation?”
Actually, the opposite is true, if you put yourself in a positive state where you are feeling the feelings you want to feel, don’t you think maybe you’d be pretty excited? You’d have the emotional energy to do just about anything.
Well, there’s one little-known way to change the way you feel at any moment, no matter what it is that’s going on in your environment. and that is to be aware of and to control your focus.
Our focus is whatever it is we chose to pay attention to. At any moment in time, there are billions, probably trillions, of things you can focus on. Because we are humans and we are designed to not go insane, we can only focus on a small number of things at the same time.
So what are you focusing on?
You really have the power to chose how you want to feel by choosing what you decide to look at, listen to or engage in.
If you want a quick way to change your focus, ask yourself a new question. Our brains are like our own personalized super computer and any question you ask it, it will find an answer whether it’s the right answer or not.
Most people are always asking themselves disempowering questions, and that’s probably why most people in our society are unhappy with their lives.
Learn to take back control of your focus and how you feel, so that you can direct your life in the direction you want to go, rather than simply being in reaction.
